Terms & Conditions
Last updated 20 August 2026
1. Who we are
EU Visa Compass (“we”, “us”) operates an independent information portal that summarises Schengen visa procedures published by EU member states and their outsourced application centres. We are not affiliated with the European Union, any national government, consulate, embassy, or visa application centre.
2. Acceptance
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
3. Information only — not legal advice
All content is provided for general information. It is not legal, immigration, financial or travel advice, and it does not create any adviser–client relationship. Visa decisions rest entirely with the competent consular authorities. Always confirm requirements, fees and appointment procedures with the official consulate or application centre before you apply or travel.
4. Accuracy and availability
We verify entries against primary official sources and record a “last verified” date, but requirements change without notice and errors are possible. We do not warrant that content is accurate, complete or current, and we may change or remove any part of the site at any time without notice.
5. AI-generated content
Parts of this website — including country summaries, visa-type guides, document checklists and explanatory articles — are generated or assisted by artificial intelligence and then reviewed by a human editor. AI output may contain inaccuracies or become outdated. Nothing on this site replaces official consular advice; always confirm requirements, fees and appointment procedures with the competent official authority before you apply or travel.
6. Your checklists
Checklists you build are generated from your answers and stored only in your own browser; the site has no user accounts. Clearing your browser storage deletes them. You are responsible for confirming that the documents you gather meet the requirements of your consulate.
7. Acceptable use
You may use the site for personal, non-commercial research. You may not scrape, bulk-copy, resell or republish substantial parts of our compiled data, attempt to disrupt the service, or use it to mislead applicants.
8. Third-party links
We link to consulate, government and service-provider websites, and may include affiliate links to travel-related services (for example insurance or eSIM providers). We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, prices or practices.
9. Intellectual property
The site design, text and compiled database are ours or our licensors'. Official forms, logos and government content remain the property of their respective owners.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the site — including refused, delayed or cancelled applications, missed appointments, travel costs or consular fees. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version published here with the date above is the one that applies. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to contact@eu-visa.org.
